This past weekend, I had the pleasure of collaborating with "Those Ugly Hats" (@thoseuglyhats) for an exciting photoshoot in the beautiful South Pointe Park, Miami Beach. With the stunning model Grethe Skou (@potraskou) and the hat designer himself, Miki (@mikihumo)—who I affectionately call The Mad Hatter—we created some captivating, outdoorsy shots that showcased both the beauty of the hats and our surroundings.
Our setting was perfect: South Pointe Park, with its lush greenery and serene beachfront, provided a versatile backdrop for our shoot. We chose to start early in the morning to take full advantage of the gorgeous natural lighting, which added a soft, golden glow to our photos.
The hats, crafted from sturdy canvas and hand-painted by Miki, were the highlight of our shoot. Each hat is a unique piece of wearable art, reflecting Miki's creative vision and craftsmanship. Grethe brought these pieces to life with her elegant poses and vibrant energy, making the hats stand out beautifully against the natural backdrop.
Our beach session was especially memorable. Just as we arrived at the beach, we spotted a huge cloud of rain heading our way. Undeterred, we decided to embrace the elements. The rain lasted for about 10 minutes, after which we continued our shoot, capturing stunning images both in the ocean and beside the large rocks near the pier. Interestingly, these rocks seemed to perfectly complement some of Miki's hat designs, adding a serendipitous harmony to our photos.
